What is the Endocannabinoid System?

People that are familiar with legal cannabis have likely heard of the Endocannabinoid system (ECS). You may have heard of it and know what it is, but many still don’t. As a retailer of hemp infused CBD, we at CAASI believe that it’s our job to share information and educate. We learned from going to weekend industry retreats where medical doctors, researchers and industry experts explain their findings.

People often wonder why they’ve never heard about the ECS in their biology class or in med school. We’re vendor members of a non-profit, Leaf411.org. They are a group of registered nurses that also happen to be cannabis experts. They provide guidance and education to the public for free. Check out their latest blog post where Denise Gonzalez-Walker explains how the ECS was discovered in the 1980s, and how it helps medical professionals guide patients in cannabis therapeutics.

Knowing that we have an ECS and how it works with receptors to provide balance in our bodies is essential to understanding how we can be proactive in providing our body natural help for sustained wellness. Next week, we'll be blogging about the new year, habits, and finding a wellness reset ritual that works for you. Understanding the ECS and how it works will only help guide you to a better understanding of cannabinoids and how they can offer help with boosting your immune system and aiding with all the things that help your mind, body and spirit function in harmony.
